This is our spelling word list for the week of February 26th - March 2nd. We will take our spelling test on Friday, March 2nd. We are continuing to work on words that the 4th graders are frequently misspelling. :)

Spelling List 18

Here are our spelling words for the week of February 20th-23rd. We will take our spelling test on Friday, February 23rd. :)
The pattern is commonly misspelled words. We are finding that as a whole 4th grade is struggling with these words.

Spring Pictures

Tomorrow, February 15th, we will take our class picture! Students will also take their spring individual picture. :)

Revising and Editing Testing Strategies

Hi Parents!
Today your child is bringing home a blue workbook that has their writing homework in it for the week. Your child needs to read the passage titled, "Texas Rangers". They will then answer 6 questions that follow. We have worked a little bit on following these steps to complete each question. We have not given them much practice on this, but have done little by little throughout the year.
In the workbook, your child has glued these strategies behind the cover. My expectation is that they follow each step for each question!
The homework is due on Friday. I ask that you do not do more than what is asked. You are welcome to work on this with your child, if help is needed! :) Please let me know if you have any questions!

Spelling List 14

Here are our spellings words for this week. Spelling Test on Friday, January 26th! :) Your student should be bringing home their planner each night. The spelling words are glued into their planner.

Field Trip Reminders

We leave on our field trip to the Sam Houston Memorial Museum tomorrow morning right after Rise and Shine. I have a few reminders to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible tomorrow.

  • Be on time to school! We are leaving right after Rise and Shine.
  • Bring your lunch (including a drink)! We will be eating at the museum. You are responsible for carrying your lunch. You may bring a backpack in which to carry your lunch.
  • Please no cameras or cell phones. The teachers will be taking pictures, and we will share with everyone!
  • Wear:
    • Creekview or red shirt
    • Comfortable shoes
    • Jacket - most of our trip will be spent outside, and the forecast is cold!

We also have learning goals for our students, so that the day will not only be fun, but be educationally valuable as well.

Learning Goals:

  • I can describe how Sam Houston was important to the founding of Texas.
  • I can describe aspects of everyday life in the 1800s.
  • I can observe and listen attentively.
  • I can ask relevant questions of experts (when appropriate) in order to gain better understanding.

We will be leaving the museum in Huntsville after lunch, so we should be back at Creekview around 2:00.

Thanks for helping to make this a great trip! Let me know if you have any questions!
