About Me

My name is Carole Thompson and I am thrilled to be your child's new ELAR/ Social Studies teacher.  This is my 8th year working in education and my fourth year working with third grade students.  In addition to being a classroom teacher, I have spent many years working with children in recreational settings.  I have taught ballet and jazz dance for many years and have also spent several years as a camp director in the summer working with children on swimming, tennis, and golfing.
I just moved back to Texas after living in North Carolina for a brief time.  I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and attended school at Texas State University for my undergraduate degree and Texas A&M San Antonio for my graduate degree.
In my personal life, my favorite hobby is traveling.  My husband and I love exploring different places and often include athletic challenges in our travels.  Some of my favorite challenges have been traveling for rock climbing, white water rafting, and many half marathons (even one full)!  When we are not traveling, we enjoy staying home and spending time with our three dogs.
It is my hope that this school year, I will be able to share my enthusiasm and love of learning with your child. I cannot wait to get to know you and your child this school year.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!
