Niesa Glenewinkel Named Tomball ISD's Elementary Principal of the Year

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD has named Niesa Glenewinkel its Elementary Principal of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year.

Glenewinkel is the Principal at Creekview Elementary and is a Tomball ISD veteran with 19 years in education. She has served Tomball ISD in a variety of roles since 1992.

“As a Principal, Niesa inspires others through her actions,” Dr. Valerie Petrzelka, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools said. “She enjoys growing professionally and supports others in their professional learning. Niesa thrives on creativity and is skilled at finding solutions to challenges. Her positive attitude, sense of humor and contagious smile make the working environment enjoyable.”

During her career, she has been a Principal for 10 years at two TISD schools, including her current role at Creekview since 2017. Along with leading a campus, Glenewinkel brings extensive experience as a program specialist and teacher.

“As an elementary principal, it is rewarding to serve students and their families and to witness their growth as kind, thoughtful, compassionate learners and leaders,” Glenewinkel said. “Additionally, I feel incredibly proud to serve alongside my team who has taught and challenged me to lead with my whole heart.  I am so thankful to do work that helps me fulfill my purpose to make a difference in the lives of those around me.”

Not only did Glenewinkel earn this distinguished honor by her peers but was also most recently named the new Principal of Grand Oaks Elementary, the district’s 11th elementary school, set to open in August 2020.

When recently asked about the culture she plans to build at Grand Oaks Elementary, she responded, “My goal is to build a kind, inclusive culture of collaboration and celebration. I envision for Grand Oaks Elementary a culture in which our staff, parents and community members collaborate to design and support clear, challenging, meaningful learning outcomes for all students.”
