50 state post card project

Calling All Families and Friends:

To read about our awesome year long Social Studies Project happening in the Structured Learning Lab Department click the title of this post "50 State Post Card Project". This will take you to the PDF letter explaining, this letter can be printed and shared, or even downloaded and E-mailed as an attachment to send to your family and friends.

We have already received some post cards from some great places! It is totally okay to receive duplicates as well, when this happens our class will have an opportunity to review information we have already learned, learn new things and even use some critical thinking skills such as compare and contrasting.

Share with your families and friends!

Celebrate Freedom Week!

This week is Celebrate Freedom Week!

In class we will have discussions on our American Heroes such as our men and women who have served/ currently serving in the military as well as our police officers, first responders, and firemen and women. After all the chaos of Harvey and its aftermath this week comes with nearly perfect timing as we focus on how thankful we are for the work our American Heroes tirelessly do day after day.

As a class this week we will be working together to write a letter of appreciation to a local fire fighter, police officer or first responder.

We would love for your children to dress this week according to the schedule below:

Monday September 11- A Call for Courage- Wear red
Tuesday September 12- Loyalty to Our Land and Leaders- Wear Blue
Wednesday September 13- Liberty Lives- Wear White
Thursday September 14- Hats off to Our Heroes- Wear Red White & Blue
Friday, September 15- Proud to be an American- Wear Red white and Blue or a patriotic shirt
