Hi! I am excited to serve as the GT Specialist for Creekview Elementary and Timber Creek Elementary. This is my second year with Tomball ISD. I completed my undergrad work at Baylor University and a master's from the University of Houston in Counseling Psychology. This is my fifteenth year in public education, with experience ranging from 5th grade self-contained, 6th grade math and Kindergarten ESL, along with three years as a school counselor. I have also enjoyed working as a therapist in private practice over the past couple of years in addition to the opportunity of working with the Advanced Academics Services Dept. and with the Strategic Initiatives Dept. in Spring Branch.
Some of my favorite things are playing chess with my two sons, traveling, road trips, finding new shows on netflix, culinary explorations in the kitchen, hiking, exploring new hobbies, reading the latest research about natural health, and occasionally acting in commercials when the opportunity arises. I absolutely love Tomball ISD so much that I moved here from the city so that my children could attend elementary school in Tomball. I have a passion for working with GT students and look forward to an exciting year!

Interesting Study

This article provides an overview of How to Raise a Smart Kid (according to a 45 year longitudinal study). Genetics combined with environment. Parents can provide opportunities for lots of reading, affection & nurture, and opportunities for repeated practice, as well as providing gradually more complex tasks to build neural connectivity.  Participating in programs like Duke TIP is another great opportunity.
