The 5th grade Parent Orientation slide presentation can be found in the links section of this page.  Please feel free to reference this information if you were unable to make it to Parent Orientation or if you need to refresh your memory on one of the topics presented.  
There is also a link to a document giving instructions on how to login to Google accounts.
~ Week of October 23rd - 27th ~
We will be continuing our study of electrical energy and also learning about sound energy this week.  Students will be in the lab 4 days this week! We will be testing conductors and insulators, building challenge circuits, and doing a very noisy sound station lab.  The unit test, covering both Electrical and Sound Energy will be next Monday, October 30th.  This test will be 1/2 of a major grade, combining with the next unit test for a total of one major grade.

TMSCA Coaches Needed

Calling all parents with a love for Math!  We are growing our TMSCA Teams this year.  There are a couple of ways you can help.  We need coaches for 3rd - 5th graders who will compete in in TMSCA tournaments. We need your expertise in the following categories:

* General Mathematics

* Number Sense (mental math)

* Calculator Applications

* Science

  1. You can volunteer to coach at our weekly practices once a week or bi-weekly.

     (We have lots of resources to assist you).

  1. You can volunteer to record a lesson via video for our students to watch during 


We would love to have your help as we build a strong and competitive TMSCA team.

Test Tomorrow

Just a reminder... Students will take their first MAJOR science test tomorrow over our Properties of Matter unit.  Please check for review in the INB and resources can also be found on Google Classroom, as well as my website under Science Resources.  Thank you for helping your child to study for this major grade test!!!

Parent Orientation Night

Parent orientation has been rescheduled to Sept. 21st and 28th.
Sept 21:   Kinder - 2nd 
Sept. 28:  3rd - 5th 
5:45 - General Session in the cafeteria
 PTO presentation
 Bond initiative presentation
 WatchDogs introduction
 QuickTime with the Specials Teachers
After completion of the opening session, parents will make their way to the teacher's classroom or pod for the individual orientation sessions. 
Each grade level will hold two back to back sessions on its scheduled night. 
Child care is not provided and it is really meant to be a time for parents only. HOWEVER, if you can't come unless you bring your children, we want you to come. Bring them with you. 

Celebrate Freedom Week

Next week, September 11th - 15th,  is Celebrate Freedom Week.  This is a time to show our patriotism and celebrate the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America.  Please see the attached flier for more information, including our dress up days for next week.
